New leadership announced
The board of directors is excited to announce the promotion of Brooke Griggs to executive director of Northeastern Indiana CASA. Brooke started as a staff GAL with Northeastern Indiana CASA in January of 2019 and moved into the role of Volunteer Coordinator in April of 2019. Brooke has primarily worked in Whitley County as a supervisor and advocate. Brooke graduated from IPFW in May of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in human services with a psychology minor and a concentration in family and children. During her time at IPFW, Brooke was an intern with the Allen County CASA program. Prior to CASA, Brooke worked as a registered behavior technician at Child’s Play Autism Center. Brooke recently married her middle school sweetheart in March and loves spending time with her family. Brooke is very excited to start leading the team of volunteers and staff at Northeastern Indiana CASA.
We are also excited to announce Abby Gabet will now be our volunteer coordinator. Abby has been with CASA as a staff GAL since January of 2019. She has worked mostly in Noble County and Whitley County. Abby graduated from IPFW in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in human services and will complete her master’s in social work in August of 2021. Abby has always had a love and passion for working with children. Prior to her work with CASA, she was a gymnastics coach and preschool teacher for 3 ½ years and was an applied behavior analysis therapist working with children who have a diagnosis of autism. Abby’s passion for working to better the life of children continues to grow, and she is excited to move into her new role as the volunteer coordinator.
