Susan Polly: Everyday Hero
Susan became a CASA volunteer in 2020 after retiring from teaching social studies to middle school students. Susan stated, “while working with these kids in education, I witnessed so many problems they encountered in their personal lives. It was hard to watch them struggle without really being able to help. Once I retired, I saw becoming a CASA volunteer as a way to help make a difference for these kids”. Since joining the CASA team, Susan has overseen 3 CHINS cases, 1 divorce case, and has advocated for a total of 11 kiddos.
Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. They enjoy going to her lake house. Susan gets to spend a good part of the summer pulling the kids behind the boat on a tube! Her and her husband like to travel. Together, they go on short and long trips whenever they can. She also enjoys cooking, walking, entertaining, and reading.
